Traditional Korean Puffed Rice Snack

Rice is a staple food in many countries and cultures. In Korea rice is eaten in many traditional and cultural foods. Including appetizers, main courses, deserts and snacks.

Puffed rice is a nice light snack that hits the sweet spot just right. It is basically just rice that has been puffed and dipped in a sweet syrup and left to harden. The final product is a nice crunchy snack that is lightly sweet. It is a delicious alternative to chocolate or really sugary snacks. If you can find it try it. In Canada it can be hard to find but some western Canadian supermarkets carry it occasionally.

In Korea this snack is found everywhere and different brands have different textures and tastes. Some are softer than others and some may be less sweet. Also many people sell this snack out of trucks and street shops made fresh. If you get it fresh and warm it is really delicious.
