UFC FIT Challenge (Week 1)

Setting the Goal

The first step in challenging yourself or looking to better yourself is setting a goal and sticking to it.In the past I have had many goals including university, work and life goals. I have successfully obtained a university degree, am working on obtaining a full time career and am a husband an father!! Wow! So I have met a lot of my goals but some in the past I have missed and learned from my misses and gained a better understanding of life from them. Both achievements and failures should be learned from and built upon to better understand yourself and others.

One goal of mine is to obtain a more healthy and toned body but this goal in the past has persuaded me through other goals. However I now decided to take the plunge and work on a better body both inside and out. I have lifted weights and walked/jogged for awhile but have never had a dedicated program. This changed when I seen UFC FIT at a local store on sale for 20 dollars. I decided to pick it up and follow the program for 90 days.

So here is to the new me through the program.

Initial Thoughts On The Program

Currently I am on day 2 of the program and I have to say the first two days are really active and require a lot of initial strength and flexibility. It is definitely not a program for total beginners the first day required lots of leg muscles and left my legs burning the whole day. The second day focused more on punching, stretching and abs. The exercises are not overly hard but have made me sweat and raised my heart rate up to a nice beat. The program is separated into different sections which get increasingly more difficult.

So my overall initial thoughts are it's going to be a tough 90 days but with the help of my family and my previous exercising I will be able to fight through the pain and achieve the 90 day period.

What I Want from The Program

Actually this is the most important part of the process what I want from the program. I want a more toned body and maybe to gain some more lean muscle and lose some body inches. I am not expecting a miracle outcome and to be able to fight in the octagon after the 90 day period. I know that the results may not be overly noticeable and I probably would have abs of steel but I hope to obtain a better outlook of myself. I hope to also gain some mental benefits from the program completing a 90 day program will boost my ego and make me look ahead top new challenges and reflect on the obstacles I have overcome in the program.

  Initial Photos

I chose to take three initial photos with the help of my wife. We took a front, back, and side profile. Over the next 90 days we will take photos every 7 days or so and monitor my progress.
