Nineteen Nineties Retro Hockey Cards

O Pee Chee retro hockey cards:

O Pee Chee hockey cards are a staple for Canadian kids who enjoy hockey cards. The early nineteen nineties cards were everywhere and sold with a stick of gum. The reality was that they were over printed. Every year more and more cards were printed and the prior years cards would go unsold or get thrown out. Fast forward to the current year and the packs are still readily available for sale for a dollar at most trade shows or card gatherings. There are some pretty interesting cards in the sets. Below is Mark Messier would is an NHL legend. Lots of other stars cards are lost in the packs waiting to be discovered.

The wrapper of the packs is the infamous wax wrapper which defines the generation as the wax card generation. Usually associated with overprinting and poor quality cards.

The lone stick of gum in the package is stale and not chewable today because of mold and the age of it. The gum piece as well generally destroys the first card in the pack.

The contents of the pack including the cards. Nine cards and a pack of gum. Mark Messier was the highlight of the pack.

What are your thoughts on these cards? Did you ever buy any of these cards?Do you find any cool cars in the packages? Do you happen to get a Gretzky?

Thank you guys for coming to my page. Hope you have a good day.
